Since January of 1989, Ethel F. Levinson has served first as the Executive Director and now as Director of Synagogue Life of Congregation Beth Judah. From 1996 to 1999 Ethel was President of the Delaware Valley Association of Synagogue Administrators. Ethel taught for the High School for Jewish Studies for Atlantic and Cape May Counties for ten years and now serves as Vice President of the Board of Jewish Education with the High School as her portfolio. In 1998 Ethel was the recipient of the Ateret Kavod Award presented by Delaware Valley Region, USCJ.

Ethel came to Beth Judah following 27 years as an active volunteer and Board member with her prior two congregations, Beth El in Cherry Hill, and Temple Sinai then in Philadelphia. Many community Sisterhood women know her as she served as President of the Southern New Jersey Branch of Women=s League for Conservative Judaism from 1976 to 1978. Many of our regional teenagers and their parents know Ethel because, from 1980 until she began her position at Beth Judah, she served Delaware Valley Region of United Synagogue for Conservative Judaism as its Youth Commission Chair. She also chaired the National Committee of Youth Commission Chairs for United Synagogue and wrote their Handbook for Youth Commission Members.

Ethel has been a member of the Steering Committee of Project Reconnect, the official alumni association of United Synagogue since 2003 and is its liaison to the North American Association of Synagogue Executives. Ethel was editor of the annual Journal for NAASE for their Conventions in 2001 and 2002. In 2007 she ran an innovative session on problem solving at the NAASE annual convention. She was a member of the 2008 Convention Committee.

Ethel is a life member of Hadassah as are both her daughters. Ethel is married 52 years to Arnold. They are the parents of three grown and married children and the grandparents of seven grandchildren.

Guy started at Beth Judah in July 2009 as the Director of Finance/Business. His responsibilities include all the financial operations, along with facilities and human resources. Guy has a BS in Accounting from Villanova University. He has twenty-five years experience in the financial/hospitality industry. He currently resides in Egg Harbor Township with his wife Patty. He has four children and one granddaughter.

Karen McKinney, our Administrative Assistant has been with Beth Judah since 1993. Karen is instrumental in the daily operations of Beth Judah, she is typically the person you will see or speak to when you call or visit the synagogue. Although born in Pennsylvania, Karen has been a South Jersey resident since 1980. Karen is married, and she and her husband enjoy a love of animals, movies and long rides on their motorcycle.
